BRASS TURNED PARTS

We turn brass. Since 1966.

GROHE Technology in Loßburg (northern Black Forest) produces brass turned parts in series: from CuZn39Pb3 (CW614N) and lead-free brass, in diameters from 6 to 65 mm, from 500 pieces, on INDEX multi- and single-spindle lathes and Star sliding-head lathes.

It all started with brass. In 1966 Johannes Thomas Grohe, son of Hans Grohe, founded an automatic turning shop to produce brass turned parts for the fittings industry. It has grown into one of the most modern companies in the northern Black Forest: 20,000 m² of production and office space, over 155,000 precision parts a day, certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Thanks to innovative technology and an optimised workflow, we deliver medium and large series as quickly as possible. By arrangement, we also produce small batches and samples.

Why brass?

CuZn39Pb3 (CW614N), often called Ms58, is the standard for precision turned parts. Its lead content of around 3% acts as a chip breaker and internal lubricant: short chips, low friction at the cutting edge, high cutting speeds and long tool life. For series production, that means short cycle times and high process reliability. Brass turned parts can also be electroplated without difficulty, for example chrome- or nickel-plated.

Lead-free when drinking water is involved.

For components in contact with drinking water, we turn lead-free and low-lead alloys such as CuZn21Si3P (Ecobrass). GROHE Technology is one of the pioneers in machining these alloys and invested more than ten years ago in its own swarf processing used exclusively for lead-free materials.
